Arranging a stag night couldn’t be easier. When my best mate rang me to told me his girlfriend had accepted his proposal, I was over the moon and not just because he was soon going to be heading down the aisle. I knew that he’d make me best man and put me in charge of his stag weekend; putting me in charge of the event meant it was going to be a really messy final night of freedom, so I couldn’t be more excited.

The night out pretty much organised itself; when you got the whole gang together, we weren’t exactly going to be on our best behaviour, no matter what bars or clubs we went to in the evening. Arranging an activity for the day is far more difficult. You need to arrange something completely exciting, that manages to get everybody ready for the messy fun ahead. Luckily, I had a plan up my sleeve that ensured messy fun was guaranteed- a visit to a paintball battlefield.

It was everything a stag weekend needed; we’d all get a chance to shoot the stag, it was a great opportunity for fancy dress and whoever got wiped out of the game first would have to do an embarrassing forfeit. The guys loved the idea, so I went online and booked with Splat Paintball straight away. It only took a few minutes and our place was secure, so we could start thinking about the more stressful things, such as the best pranks to play on the stag before the night was over.

As soon as we got to the site, the staff were on hand to make sure it was the perfect start to the stag. They loved taking part in the banter- when they found out who the stag was, they suggested we start the game with “hunt the stag”. He was covered in paint before the game had even finished and there were still more games to play once that was over and done with. By the end of the day, we were completely worn out- but still eager for the night ahead. It was the most exhilarating start to the night we could possibly imagine, so I recommend it very highly. Even though the stag is happily married, I’m sure I’ll be able to persuade him to return so we can shoot him all over again!
